5/20/2019 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Room: 255C

Winter operations decision-makers have to rely on weather data. When should the crews be called out? Which chemicals should be used for the type of expected snow and/or ice event?  What impacts the accuracy of a weather forecast? Not every weather model is created in the same way and each has strengths and weaknesses. Discover how a weather forecast is generated and what new technologies have been introduced in the last five years that will help in your decision-making.

After Attending This Session, You Will be Better Able to:
1. Recognize the importance of weather forecast information to winter operations and where the forecast data comes from.
2. Assess the value of forecast information to make sound snow and ice decisions.
3. Differentiate between different weather forecasts and why one forecast might work in one situation but not others.
