5/20/2019 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Room: 255A

As the complexity and diversity of fleet and winter maintenance equipment grows, the need for up-to-date and qualified fleet technicians does as well. Fifteen years ago, the APWA Kansas City Metro Chapter established a fleet technician competition that recognizes their role in public works and winter maintenance operations. This competition not only fosters better job performance, but also provides fleet technicians the opportunity to network and share knowledge. Find out how your APWA chapter or agency could set up a similar program.

After Attending This Session, You Will be Better Able to:
1. Evaluate how a fleet technician competition could benefit your fleet and winter maintenance operations.
2. Determine how to organize the necessary resources to set up such an event.
3. List the ways a fleet technician competition could improve technician performance.
