Construction Inspection - Pre-construction Preparation: Project Coordination
It’s important to meet with utilities owners as soon as possible to review the plans to verify the required right-of-way has been acquired. Issues with either the plans or right-of-way can cause significant delays. To minimize the potential for problems later, verify the contractor has full access to the work site, and whether any community groups may be impacted by the project, such as home owners associations or school districts. During pre-construction preparation, it is important for each party to communicate their expectations to avoid disappointments and unexpected events. This course discusses the need to communicate with the contractor, utility owners and community groups prior to beginning work.
