How to Deal with the MIRE . . . What is Required by 2026
Model Inventory of Roadway Elements - MIRE, is the collection of data for transportation professions to make data driven safety decisions.   MIRE can be used to perform analyses supporting the strategic and performance-based goals in SHSP and HSIP.  This presentation will focus on the two Local Road Fundamental Data Elements (FDE's) for Paved and Unpaved Roads.  10-11 AM Central time

After attending this session, participants will be better able to:
- describe the federal regulation and the terminology associated with the MIRE FDE's as well as SHSP and HSIP.
- recognize what is happening around the United States in relationship with data sharing and how the State DOT's are supporting the Locals.
- identify best practices, pilot programs and/or research that are being used throughout the United States to enhance safety using the MIRE FDE's.
