APWA announces Keith Pugh as new President-Elect

Dear APWA Member:

Due to the vacancy in the APWA President-Elect position, members of the APWA Board of Directors met on March 14, 2022 to select the individual who will serve the balance of the term as 2021-2022 President-Elect. According to APWA Bylaws, this individual must be elected from the sitting Regional Directors or Technical Directors. As a result, Keith Pugh, P.E., PWLF, was selected to serve the remainder of the term as President-Elect and will assume the duties of President at PWX on August 30, 2022.

Keith serves as a Client Success Manager for WithersRavenel in Asheville, North Carolina. He retired as Director of Engineering Services at the City of High Point, North Carolina in 2019. His leadership in APWA began in 2001 when he was selected to serve on the national Engineering and Technology Committee. At the chapter level, he was elected to the North Carolina Chapter’s Administrative Management Division (AMD) board in 2003. He has served in various chapter capacities including AMD President, Chapter Director, Chapter Awards Committee Chair, Chapter President, and Chapter Delegate. Pugh has served on APWA’s Projects of the Year Selection Committee and Government Affairs Committee (including two years as committee chair). He co-chaired the 2013 North American Snow Conference host committee.

“While I will miss working with Dan on the Board,” said Pugh, “I will look forward to working with the Board to recognize the evolving needs of our members and upcoming emerging leaders, their differing attitudes, skills and challenges. APWA must constantly identify and respond to ongoing changes to continue as a renowned public works force.”

Please join me in welcoming Keith as APWA's new President-Elect.

Sincerely,
