Congress Passes American Rescue Plan Act of 2021

On March 10, the U.S House of Representatives passed H.R. 1319, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The bill was passed on a largely party-line vote of 220 in favor and 211 opposed. The approximately $1.9 trillion dollar package is intended to provide aid and relief to those impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Senate passed the bill over the past weekend. The measure is now headed to the White House for the President’s signature.
