A message from APWA leadership on Hurricane Laura
The American Public Works Association shares the concerns of many members and the public regarding the landfall of Hurricane Laura on the Gulf Coast. On behalf of the APWA Board of Directors, members and staff, our thoughts go out to those who are dealing with the localized response, and to those who are in the path of the hurricane. When disasters hit, we band together to assist one another.
In this spirit, APWA offers the following tips and links to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), the National Weather Service (NWS), Federal and State Emergency Management Assistance, and the APWA Emergency Management Peer Resource Directory. We know safety is always your highest priority, and that you take very seriously the responsibilities of disaster preparedness, response and recovery efforts upon which your communities depend. Stay safe!
