DOL Announces Youth Apprenticeship Readiness Grants


On April 6, the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announced $42.5 million in Youth Apprenticeship Readiness grants are now available. These grants will support the enrollment of youth apprentices (ages 16-24) into Registered Apprenticeship Programs. Education agencies, workforce development boards, higher education institutions and similar entities will serve as lead applicant for these grants, partnering with local employers interested in creating or expanding Registered Apprenticeship Programs targeted at youth apprentices. Grants range from $1 million to $5 million and the deadline for applications is May 6. Detailed information on the grants can be found here.
