APWA’s Infrastructure Priorities for Future Potential Coronavirus Package
On April 2, APWA submitted a letter to Congressional Leaders outlining infrastructure priorities for consideration in a potential future coronavirus package. The letter
, signed by APWA President Bill Spearman and CEO Scott Grayson, outlines critical infrastructure items that should be considered for inclusion in a potential future coronavirus package. These public works priorities include calling upon Congress to complete a surface transportation reauthorization measure early to follow the current Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which expires September 30, 2020; Supplemental appropriations for key water infrastructure programs, and recommend policy changes to create efficiencies; and additional funding for Federal Emergency Management Agency grant programs assisting in combating the coronavirus.
