Awards Deadline is March 2
 

The deadline for all award nominations other than for the Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence (PACE) is Monday, March 2 at Midnight, Eastern Time. The PACE deadline is Monday, June 1 and chapters must be notified first that they qualify to submit for the award.

Board Nominations Open February 1
 

Eight positions on the APWA Board of Directors are set to expire in September. Nominations will be accepted for Regional Director positions for Regions III, IV, VII, IX and the Technical Director positions for Engineering & Technology, Environmental Management, Leadership & Management, and Transportation 
 
Details regarding qualifications, expectations and information for nomination is available on the APWA web site starting February 1. Interested members are encouraged to discuss the positions with any member of the board.

Jennings Randolph International Fellows selected
 

The 2020 Jennings Randolph International Fellows have been selected.

American Public Works Association (APWA) has announced that Douglas Singer and Emily Tritsch will be participating in this unique international study and professional exchange opportunity to promote collaboration and the sharing of public works best practices.Doug Singer is the Principal Civil Engineer for the City of Eugene (OR). He will engage in a knowledge exchange with Swedish and Danish experts pertaining to their successes and challenges using asset management to implement stormwater and flood control projects using the ecosystem services approach. He will attend the Swedish Public Works Association Conference, September 14-15, 2020, Malmo, Sweden.
 
Emily Tritsch is the Asset Manager, Portland Bureau of Transportation, in Portland, OR. She will also attend the Swedish Public Works Association Conference in Malmo after a study tour that will explore best practices in asset renewal optimization considering infrastructure data, as well as community priorities. Prioritization methods for asset reinvestment will be evaluated, including a triple bottom line approach looking at social, environmental, and economic targets as identified by the community and decision-makers.

Chapters that would like to have the APWA President, President-Elect, Past President, a Technical Director or your Regional Director attend a chapter event should use the request form provided at the link below.

Any chapters that are interested in conducting a focused membership recruitment and retention assessment and/or hold a strategic planning session should use the same request form.
