Dan Brouillette Confirmed by Senate to Lead DOE

On December 2, Deputy Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Dan Brouillette was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the next DOE Secretary. Mr. Brouillette takes over the helm at DOE following the resignation of Rick Perry whose last day was Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Prior to his service as the deputy at DOE, Mr. Brouillete served as a member of the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board from 2013 to 2016, Chief of Staff for the House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in the private sector with Ford Motor Company.

Before the Thanksgiving recess, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee voted to send Mr. Brouillette’s nomination to the full body, thereby allowing the Senate to move swiftly on his confirmation.
