Nominations for the 2020 APWA Awards Program are officially open. Nominations for any award can be made by going online at www.apwa.net\awards.
 
Deadlines for the following awards are:
Excellence in Snow and Ice Control AwardDecember2, 2019
All Other Awards– March 2, 2020
PACE– June 1, 2020

Awards Program Webinar set for Wednesday
 

A 2020 Awards Program webinar is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday (October 23). The webinar will review changes to the following awards criteria:

Donald C. Stone Award for Excellence in Education

You can also get to this page by signing in on www.apwa.net, then click on MYAPWA HOME in the main menu, then on the MYAPWA HOME page click on the orange “Chapter Leader Resources” icon.

Apply now for Jennings Randolph International Fellowship
 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Jennings Randolph International Fellowship Program.

This program is administered by the APWA International Affairs Committee and is funded through the Eisenhower World Affairs Institute and supports travel and participation at a public works conference of one of APWA's international partners and a public works study tour in that country. 
2020 International Public Works Conferences and Study Locations:  
  • IPWEA International Public Works Conference; Dunedin, New Zealand; June 17-19, 2020
  • FAME Congress; Pori, Finland; June 11-13, 2020
  • Swedish Public Works Association (SPWA) Conference; Malmö, Sweden; September 14-15, 2020
  • KTC Annual Conference; Location TBA, Denmark; October 22-23, 2020
  • Icelandic Federation of Local Technicians (SATS) Conference; Date and Location TBA
  • ICLEI Public Works National Congress; Date and Location TBA


Applications must be submitted online by midnight Friday, November 15, 2019.
 
Fellowships granted for travel to our partner countries are limited to a maximum of $2,500 (USD) to assist with travel costs and other expenses that may be covered by the award.

Bylaw Changes available for review


Proposed changes to the APWA bylaws are listed on pages 4-6 of the November APWA Reporter. The article explains the major changes being proposed and provides the purpose/reason for the proposed changes. The membership will have an opportunity to vote online on the changes from November 12 - December 12.  More information will be forthcoming.


Ethics workshops expand opportunities


Chapters will soon be able to offer more opportunities for individuals to explore ethics by practicing, interacting and engaging in workshops.
 
The ‘DIY: Ethics for Professionals WorksShop Kit’ is now available and the ‘DIY: Ethics for Supervisors’ will launch in November.
 
Those that have already purchased the Ethics for Professionals kit will receive a 30% discount using a coupon code for the Ethics for Supervisors kit.
