PACE deadline is Monday

There are 38 chapters that are eligible to submit for the PACE (Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence). Chapters must submit by Monday (June 3) and those that will receive the PACE will be notified the first week of July. The chapters that receive the PACE will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony on Monday, September 9 in Seattle.

Make plans for Chapter Capacity Planning

APWA staff members are available to help chapters with operational and strategic planning, membership brainstorming sessions and leadership training, as well as assist with advocacy efforts and finance and compliance issues. Staff can also share Best Practices from other chapters.

Here’s how to Invite a Board Member to a chapter event

Chapters that would like to have the APWA President, President-Elect, Past President, an At-Large Director, or your Regional Director attend your chapter event, please complete the request form provided at the link below. Request Form

The same form can be used to request that a member of the APWA staff conduct a strategic planning and/or a leadership training session with your chapter leaders. For additional assistance regarding requesting a visit, contact Teresa Hon (800-848-2792, ext. 5224; thon@apwa.net).

PWX Chapter Dinner info needed

Chapters or regions planning a Chapter Dinner at PWX in Seattle, Washington should use this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2J3MKZ9 to supply the information needed to acquire insurance for the event. The deadline is June 28
The information supplied will be included on the PWX app. If onsite registrations are going to be accepted, please include an onsite contact person. You can also locate the form on the front page of the Chapter Leader Resources page at https://clr.apwa.net/ and scroll down until you reach the Time to Eat photo.

Membership anniversary pins

A chapter membership committee chair can download the chapter’s roster and can easily determine when a member(s) has reached a milestone.
Each member’s join date is included on the roster and with that join date, the membership chair can sort the report and see which members have reached milestone anniversaries with APWA and order an anniversary pin to present at a chapter conference or event.
The pins come in years of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25-year increments and are free. To request the pins, go to https://clr.apwa.net and sign in. Once at the Chapter Leader Resources section, click on to the membership tab and find the boxes labeled Rosters, Live Reports and Statistics Reports. Choose the box that says Rosters to download the chapter roster.
There is also a tab marked “Anniversary Pin Order Form” on the main page of the Chapter Leader Resources section that shows photos of each of the pins.
