YP Infusion Membership Campaign Underway
 

For a limited time, APWA is offering a special rate for Young Professionals who have never been a member of the association.

The “YP Infusion” rate is $99 for TWO years of membership. This special offer began on March 18 and will be good through April 30. That is less than the usual half-price membership rate for those who have not been members of APWA in the past.
 
Anyone 35 years of age and younger at the time of application is eligible. This is a great opportunity for younger public works professionals to join and get involved in APWA. Those joining under the special rate can take advantage of any and all member benefits, including the Members’ Library, the infoNOW electronic networking community, the opportunity to earn and track your CEUs or PDHs, and the opportunity to earn professional credentials.
 
In addition, APWA members are immediately part of a network of 30,000 public works professional who are ready, willing and able to share their experience and help a young member along in their career.

Chapter Investment Webinar Coming Up in April
 

A webinar on chapter investments is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, with APWA’s new investment firm.
 
APWA has moved away from traditional brokers to a full-service financial (investment) advisor.  Bill Fisher and Trey Olcott, from the firm of DiMeo Schneider & Associates, will provide chapters with four different investment model options along with the associated fee structure. The webinar will also provide chapters with information on how they can work with DiMeo and there will be ample time for questions.
 
Chapters are not required to use DiMeo but APWA will be leaving Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch shortly.

Member Retention Seminar Set for Wednesday
 

A Live webinar on member retention, presented by Lowell Aplebaum, the keynote speaker at the recent Chapter Leaders Training in Kansas City, will be offered Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.

Mr. Aplebaum, CEO and Strategy Catalyst for Vista Cova, will present on “Member Retention: Creating the Member Experience.”  Mr. Aplebaum specializes in working with organizations as a facilitator of vision and strategy. He works to create anorganizational dialogue around vision, strategic planning, community and connections, and value. 
 
His General Session presentation at the Chapter Leaders Training in Kansas City was very well received. In this Live webinar, participants will be able to follow along and ask questions.

Chapter Leaders Forum Slated For PWX
 

The 2019 Chapter Leaders Forum will be held from 3:00-4:50 p.m. on Sunday, September 9 in Seattle. The event takes place during PWX, APWA’s annual convention and trade show. 
 
An agenda is being worked on now.  This is an excellent opportunity for all chapter leaders to network and engage in roundtable topic conversations addressing chapter capacity ideas, opportunities and challenges they are currently facing.  
 
There are other important networking and training sessions on the schedule for PWX.
