Competitive Bridge Funding Available
On September 5, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) announced a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) from the Agency’s Competitive Highway Bridge Funding program. Applications are being accepted through December 4, 2018. A total of $225 million is available for funding highway bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects on public roads demonstrating a cost savings by bundling multiple projects together. State departments of transportation serving a population of less than 100 people per square mile are eligible to apply. FHWA has identified the twenty-five states who are eligible as: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
