Senate T-HUD Subcommittee Marks-up FY 2019 Spending Bill

Meeting for less than 30 minutes this morning, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies approved its fiscal year (FY) 2019 spending bill. Chairwoman Susan Collins (R-ME) expressed her appreciation to her colleagues on the Subcommittee for keeping the bill above politics. Very little detail was offered as to what the bill contains in specifics, but Chairwoman Collins remarked that controversial policy riders are not being included as part of the bill to make sure the legislation makes it to conference committee with the House.

The topline funding number for the Senate T-HUD appropriation of $71.4 billion was released ahead of the Subcommittee mark-up. The House Appropriations Committee approved its FY 2019 T-HUD spending bill last month, which would set spending for T-HUD at $500,000 million more than the Senate proposed level.

The full Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to mark-up the legislation on June 7 at 10:30 am ET. For additional information please visit the Senate Appropriations Committee website at:
