U.S. DOT Announces BUILD Grants
On April 20, 2018 the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced $1.5 billion in available discretionary grant funding through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) program.
BUILD grants replace the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program. The grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to surface transportation infrastructure projects that will provide a major regional or local benefit. The funding will be available through September 30, 2020.
DOT will be hosting webinars on how to compete for the grants, including one focused on rural and tribal applicants, and how to prepare a cost-benefit analysis for the application. BUILD grant applications will be accepted through July 19, 2018. For additional information on the grants - click here.
