CPWA President testifies before House of Commons Committee
 

CPWA President Andrew Stevenson appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities on April 18 in view of the Committee’s study on Infrastructure Projects and the Investing in Canada Plan, including:
  • the measures that the government intends to take in order to prevent delays in the implementation of infrastructure projects;
  • the details on the progress of infrastructure projects to date; and
  • a full update on the government’s plan to spend $186.7 billion on infrastructure.
Mr. Stevenson appeared as part of a panel experts, other panelists being from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the Canadian Urban Transit Association. Witnesses at an earlier hearing on April 18 included the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Fédération québécoise des municipalités, and the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

The Committee will make recommendations and report to the House of Commons by June 2018.
