EPA Announces Funding Availability for WIFIA

Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Water Infrastructure Finance Innovation Act (WIFIA) program. The WIFIA program received $63 million in funding in the recently enacted omnibus budget agreement. This funding, which can be used to leverage private capital and other funding sources, could support up to $11 billion in water infrastructure investment.
The WIFIA program has a two-step application process with potential loan recipients submitting a letter of interest, followed by a formal application. Potential applicants must submit their letter of interest by June 6, 2018.

You can find more resources and information on the program, including an updated FAQ and program handbook, on the WIFIA home page. A series of webinars is scheduled to provide potential applicants with more information on the program and application process.
