Check roster spots for vacancies

Anyone connected with membership at a chapter is reminded to check for any vacancies on group rosters.  There is one month left in the calendar year of 2017 and the membership totals at year end will determine the rebates received by the chapters for 2018.
The November membership numbers will be official later this week.

Membership 101 webinar scheduled

A Membership 101 webinar will be held at 2:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on Tuesday, January 23.
This webcast is presented each year in January, helping the new chapter and branch membership chairs navigate the Chapter Leader Resources area and helping them understand the membership-specific materials. It is also a great way for those who have been a membership chair to review some of the materials and learn about any new processes.  Those attending the webinar will learn how to find and make use of the various membership reports, and hear of Best Practices from other chapters. Participants will also be able to ask questions through the one-hour program.

2018 Chapter/Branch Officers and Profile Information due

As chapters and branches elect new officers for 2018, those new officers should be reported to APWA by December 31, 2017.  This is usually done by the chapter secretary or chapter administrator.
Along with your executive committee and branch positions, we are specifically interested in obtaining the names of your Chapter Delegate and Alternate Delegate, as well as Membership, Diversity, Advocacy/Government Affairs, Education, Website, Scholarship and Technical Committee chairs if applicable. This should be sent by e-mail to Rhonda Wilhite at rwilhite@apwa.net.
Another document that should be checked for accuracy at least once a year is found beneath the Chapter Profile Reporting tool. Go to the Chapter Leader Resources page and select “Chapter Profile Reporting Tool.”  Select your chapter name and view the profile and see if you need to make any changes and send changes from the profile reporting tool.
Updating your chapter profile will also help new members learn about their chapter.

Reminder about Chapters and Contracts

As your chapter prepares for 2018, don’t forget that all contracts with a $10,000 or greater value must be submitted to National for review prior to the contract being signed. All contracts of $5,000 - $9,999 value must be submitted to National to be kept on file in your chapter records.
All contracts for chapter administrator services must be submitted to National for review.  Contracts should be submitted to Christina Carter at ccarter@apwa.net.
