DOT Invites Comment on Obstacles to Transportation Projects
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is soliciting comments from stakeholders and the public to identify regulatory or administrative burdens that impede the process of transportation infrastructure projects. DOT is interested in hearing from public and private project sponsors, engineering and construction professionals, related organizations and other stakeholders who encounter these types of obstacles to project delivery on a daily basis. Comments will be used by DOT to help the Department identify requirements or interpretations in policy documents or guidance that delay or prevent completion of surface, maritime and aviation transportation infrastructure projects.
The Department is primarily focused on administrative items that it has the authority to change. However, potential statutory modifications will be accepted as comments. DOT encourages commenters to provide descriptions of regulatory burdens, description of less burdensome alternatives, and examples of affected projects.
