The City of Loveland, in beautiful Northern Colorado is accepting applications for Civil Engineer II to direct and coordinate the work of the Public Works Engineering Division Transportation Capital Projects Group for projects dealing with, but not limited to, intersection improvements, street widening, sidewalk improvements, bike lane improvements, and new road construction, under the general supervision of the division’s Senior Civil Engineer. Perform duties as the Project Manager for assigned projects. Assist Public Works managers and staff in the analysis and planning for transportation needs of the City. Employ project management skills to gain informed consent from affected parties on assigned projects while working to expedite project design and construction in a logical, safe and responsible manner. 

 

Successful candidates will have a B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field or a combination of eight (8) years of education and/or experience may substitute for the B.S. degree. 
In addition, a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in civil engineering with a background in urban street widening and intersection design / construction, structural engineering related to bridge design/construction and funding, transportation master planning, and/or project management required. Without a B.S. degree, the combination of education and/or experience is a minimum of 18 years.  A minimum of three (3) years supervisory or management experience required. Experience directing consultants with a wide range of professional skills to address civil design, funding, land surveying, environmental, social, utility and other concerns facing urban transportation projects required. Experience in developing, monitoring, and regulating budgets, including professional services and capital construction projects required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire required.
