Parsons Brinckerhoff's Lenexa Office is looking for an experienced transportation practice leader with a proven record in project management and business development. The applicant should be able to demonstrate existing client relationships and a successful sales record and must currently be a project manager with a proven performance track record managing urban street and highway projects. Experience in the Kansas City metropolitan area and with municipalities, counties, KDOT and MoDOT is preferred.
The candidate must have strong verbal, written, presentation, and organization and management skills. Responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
Developing and implementing an area business development strategy;Leading business development/marketing activities including pursuit identification and teaming, initiating and reviewing proposals;Maintaining positive client relationships;Developing and/or coordinating requests for requests for proposals/qualifications;Participating in interviews and presentations;Mentoring and developing staff in business development and client relationship building;Managing all aspects of transportation design projects from conceptual engineering to final design;Coordinating the planning and execution of project tasks, managing project staff, scheduling and budgetary oversight
The selected candidate is expected to have a minimum of 10 years of civil/highway engineering experience regarding the development and preparation of conceptual to final engineering plans and contract documents. The candidate is required to have a solid understanding of civil engineering principles and practices and strong knowledge of KDOT, MODOT, and urban design requirements.
This engineering position requires a B.S.C.E. from an accredited University or College. An E.I.T. certification is required and a P.E. certification is preferred. The selected candidate should be able to work in the United States immediately.
