Civic San Diego is a city-owned non-profit that is the entrepreneurial partner for targeted urban neighborhoods.  We are a one-stop shop with a Neighborhood Development Toolbox that lets us move quickly with public-private development projects and programs.

Under the direction of the Principal Engineer, Public Works, the Project Manager will prepare bid packages, supervise/direct the work of consultants, manage public works contracts and projects, and assist with private developments. The Project Manager will provide management of all phases of planning and construction of capital improvement projects and/or public works projects such as site surveys, preliminary budgets, scheduling, construction, plan and specifications preparation, bid and on-site observation. Additionally, the Project Manager will participate in negotiations with developers; analyze proposals; negotiate contracts; participant in the consultant solicitation and selection process; draft scopes of work; participate in pre-bid conferences, contract award, preconstruction, field construction progress, EO meetings, final walk through and acceptance of work; and prepare materials for and make oral presentations to a variety of audiences.

Candidates must be a Registered Engineer in the State of California and possess a minimum of five (5) years of related experience for an associate level position, and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience for a senior level position. A Bachelor of Science Degree in civil or structural engineering (or related) from an accredited college or university is also required. Candidates must be able to write clear, concise, comprehensive and effective reports and make effective oral presentations. Candidates must also possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft computer applications.
