This is an exciting and rewarding position with the City of Baytown, part of the dynamic Galveston/Houston/Baytown metropolis acknowledged as one of America’s top 5 regions for jobs. This position is located at the City of Baytown Engineering Department. The Traffic Engineer develops and implements transportation related ordinances, goals/priorities, objectives, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines related to traffic engineering and transportation planning including maintaining the city’s thoroughfare plan.

If selected for this critical role, team members and their eligible dependents who participate on the City’s health plan enjoy free medical care at the City operated Wellness Center.  The City also provides 10 holidays per year along with an accrued 15 days of sick leave and an accrued 10 days of vacation leave per year. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  1. 1.     BS in Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  2. 2.     PE Registration in TX, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  3. 3.     Valid State of Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  4. 4.     Four or more years of traffic engineering experience.

PREFERRED:

1.    Municipal Experience

2.    Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
