Position Summary

This full-time position involves skilled work in the facilities maintenance field requiring the ability to create, maintain and repair various aspects of the interior and exterior components of City facilities. Employees in this department work with minimum supervision where production of services are monitored and evaluated by the supervisor. This position requires employees to respond to emergency and non-emergency situations outside normal business hours, to include snow removal. Work is performed under the direction of the Supervisor Building Maintenance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Class B CDL driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within six months of hire.

Minimum five years’ skilled level experience in building maintenance.

Knowledge of and experience in standard practices, methods, mathematic principles, tools, materials and equipment used in building maintenance and repair, to include: carpentry, doors, door locks, plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, painting.

Knowledge of and experience in general mechanical facility maintenance work to include: HVAC, exhaust fans, motors, pumps, valves, compressors.

Knowledge of and experience in general exterior facility maintenance work to include: roofs, gutters, windows, doors, overhead doors and other related items.

Ability to work with ladders, scaffolding and work at heights greater than ten feet.

Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with assistance.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.

Salary: DOQ. Must be available for overtime-emergency calls and snow removal. Excellent benefit package.
