The Engineering Technician is a technical position within the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works. The work involves observation and inspection of construction activities within the Town right-of-way for compliance with the Town of Parker Roadway Design and Construction Criteria Manual. An employee in this position must demonstrate specialized technical knowledge in specific areas and exercise judgment within established organizational values, policies and procedures.

An Associates Degree from a two (2) year college or technical school and a minimum of two (2) years of civil construction inspection related experience and a combination of education and experience to provide for the necessary knowledge skills and abilities (view full job description). Municipal experience preferred. A valid Colorado drivers license and good driving record or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire is required. Must have had a valid drivers license for a minimum of two (2) years. The ability to operate a motor vehicle on paved roads and at construction sites is required. Current in NIMS/ICS training through IS 100 and IS200 or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.The ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to: criminal history search and motor vehicle record (MVR) check is required.
Work hours typically 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday; day, evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
