The City of Commerce City has an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer-II position within the Department of Public Works. The City is looking for a creative, high energy, highly motivated and team oriented professional with a strong commitment to quality and service.
The Civil Engineer-II performs professional engineering work in one or more functional areas including project management, design, transportation, development review, and construction. The Civil Engineer-II will assist in the delivery of complex transportation projects, review & comment on development proposals, design and prepare plans for simple to moderately complex projects, and administer the pavement management program. This is a journey level position in a job series and requires the ability to perform assigned tasks independently. Teamwork, cooperation and communications are highly valued traits required for this position.

Engineer Intern (EI) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certification is required as well as two year’s experience in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and considered. Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
