Managing Director

 

The Cass County Road Commission (CCRC) is accepting applications for the Manager’s position. The Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of all road commission operations and reports directly to the Board of County Road Commissioners.  He/she directs and supervises all functions including project planning and development; human resource management and labor relations/contract negotiation; fiscal management and budget control; asphalt plant and facilities management; and grievance and discipline issues.

 

The Manager must have an ability to analyze construction and maintenance needs of the CCRC, and to conceptually forecast long-term trends and needs for the next 10-20 years.  He/she must stay abreast of new highway legislation and regulations affecting CCRC operations. Required qualifications and skills include: (1) a Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration, public administration, or a related field; (2) knowledge of Act 51 administration; (3) superior skills in leadership, problem solving, verbal/written communication, policy/planning development/implementation, and intergovernmental relations; (4) a strong work ethic and the ability to respond promptly and calmly to emergency situations.
