Assistant Director of Public Works
The City of Dallas is currently seeking applicants for an Assistant Director of Public Works. This position has the responsibility of planning and directing the implementation of the design and construction of public infrastructure, which includes roadways, bridges and drainage-related capital improvements, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and with minimal disruption to citizens in addition to providing surveying services to the City of Dallas.

Applicants must also have a thorough knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering, personnel procedures, business principles and the principles of supervision and occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) rules, regulations and procedures. They will also possess the ability to negotiate and resolve sensitive issues with public contractors, business owners, regulatory agencies and other city departments in a tactful and diplomatic manner; establish and maintain working relationships with people of different socio-economic backgrounds; and the ability to interact with a variety of citizens and interest groups.
Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field and be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or must be able to obtain registration in the State of Texas within six (6) months of employment. Must have a minimum of six (6) years engineering design, cost and project scheduling and public relations experience including two (2) years general management and supervisory experience.
DOQ + benefits, (Salary Range: $88,006 to $141,099 annually)
