We are seeking candidates that are ready and prepared to take their career to the next level. Reporting to and in partnership with the Facilities and Parks Manager, the Facilities Superintendent will plan, organize, and direct the operations, maintenance and repair of nearly 30 County owned buildings (over 1.3 million square feet), structures, and grounds and performs a variety of administrative, financial, and technical tasks relative to the responsibilities of the position.
The superintendent plays a visible leadership role and collaborates closely with county executives and staff, and oversees a workforce of four supervisors with a total of twenty staff members covering Electrical, HVAC/Plumbing, General Maintenance and Groundskeeping.
Successful candidates will possess:
1. An Associate's Degree in Public Administration, Facilities Management or related field and three (3) years experience in supervising or managing a full-service facilities operations program; or
2. College-level training in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and five (5) years experience in supervision or management of a full-service facilities operation program, including maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial or other large building plants with a required emphasis on heating and cooling systems, parts inventory maintenance and budget and financial management.
