The Metropolitan Council's Environmental Services Division is looking for an experienced Wastewater Collection System Manager to provide overall leadership, management, and technical support for the Interceptor Business Unit, which is responsible for the operation of the Regional Wastewater Collection System, achieving uninterrupted service delivery to the customer communities in compliance with Federal and State requirements.
WHO WE ARE: The Metropolitan Council is made up of several operating divisions that service the Twin Cities Metropolitan area in a number of ways.
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) which manages seven wastewater treatment plants and the regional wastewater collection system for the seven county metropolitan region; Metro Transit, providing bus and light rail public transportation for the greater metropolitan area; Community Development, responsible for helping the Council shape its regional growth plan, HRA providing affordable housing programs in the region; Metropolitan Transportation Services (MTS) is responsible for the transportation planning functions as the Twin Cities metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for transportation, andRegional Administration, housing the support services for the Council.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in wastewater collections systems, or a related field, of which five (5) years are in a lead/supervisory/management role.
Equivalency: Years of related experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Desirable Qualifications: 1) P.E in Civil Engineering, 2) Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic principles and pipe network operations.
