Reporting to the VP of Commercial Development, the Paving Solutions Engineer must establish, and sustain essential contact with public agencies, contractors, private owners, and engineers; The Paving Solutions Engineer must promote CEMEX cementitious products and services for local streets and roads, residential streets, DOT applications, parking lots, and industrial applications.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Develop, promote, and grow the use of cement- and concrete-based pavement options (roller compacted concrete, concrete pavements, cement treated bases, and soil cement) for the above applications in the region. Develop the technical skills as noted below to meet with public agencies, owners, Engineering Consultants, and contractors to discuss above mentioned targets.Develop a prioritized call list of Engineers and agencies within the territory. Identify and rewrite key specifications within the territory that need modifications to allow for Roller Compacted Concrete, concrete pavements, cement treated bases, and soil cementDevelop pavement designs, cost analysis, promotional materials, and other technical information needed to sell the alternate cement- and concrete-based pavement options to public agencies, owners, Engineering Consultants, and contractors in the region. Develop and deliver presentations to paving contractors, design engineers, geotechnical engineers, public agencies, University classes, etc in order to educate them on the use of cement- and concrete-based pavement options.Develop and maintain deep relationships with customers, public agencies, owners, Engineering Consultants, and contractors. Utilize these relationships to grow the use of cement - and concrete-based pavement optionsInteract with and provide assistance to CEMEX Cement, Ready Mix, and aggregate operations regarding the use of cement and concrete for paving projects. Coordinate Roller compacted concrete, concrete pavements, cement treated bases, and soil cement projects with Sales divisionAssist with developing and training Roller Compacted Concrete contractors in the regionMaintain active participation in appropriate professional associations and attend trade shows and conferences when necessary.
BS in Civil Engineering or construction science with a minimum of 5-years of experience, or Masters of Science in Pavement Engineering, construction science, or construction materials.Professional Engineering License in local State or ability to obtain within 2 years is a plusConstruction estimating or sales experience is a plusTechnical knowledge of pavement designs, mix design or construction of Roller Compacted concrete, conventional concrete, asphalt and other pavement applications. Technical knowledge of cement and concrete materials.Ability to communicate and interact with public agencies, owners, Engineering Consultants, and contractors who work on pavement projectsStrong personal relationship and presentation skills, well organized, and market/business savvy.Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
