Fleet and Facilities Foreman
The City of Des Plaines is seeking candidates to fill the Fleet and Facilities Foreman position in the General Services Division of the Public Works and Engineering Department.
The Fleet and Facilities Foreman will work under the general guidance and direction of the Superintendent of General Services. Primary job duties include supervising up to 12 full-time employees, and responsibility for the care and maintenance of a variety of municipal vehicles and six City facilities. The position will be expected to develop and maintain a preventive maintenance plan for the City’s fleet, assist in development of a vehicle replacement program and play an active role in ensuring all facets of facility maintenance are addressed. The position will have significant contract development and oversight responsibilities.
High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least five years experience in the repair of a wide variety of vehicles and building facilities and systems, and at least one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a State of Illinois Class “B” (CDL) driver’s license.
Compensation and Application Process
