PUBLIC WORKS OPERATIONS MANAGER

The City of Ashland, Wisconsin (pop. 8,216) is seeking candidates for the position of Public Works Operations Manager.

The City of Ashland Operations Manager directs day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department, Streets Division, under the general direction of the Director of Public Works. Responsibilities include: project coordination, field inspections, budget preparation, specification development, division purchasing and landfill management. This is considered a middle-management position and as such will serve as the communication bridge between the Director of Public Works and the Public Works Department, Streets Division, employees. Qualifications include five or more years of experience in construction or public works setting, two of which are in a supervisory position. At a minimum, employee must be a high school graduate. A bachelor’s degree from a credited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, business or public administration is preferred. Salary range: $48,000 – $52,000 with an excellent fringe benefit package, including Wisconsin Retirement, life, health and dental insurance.
