The City of Saint John is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Operations Manager, Transportation & Environment. As one of four Operations Managers in Transportation & Environment you will assist in building, leading and managing teams of professional, operational, technical and administrative employees within five public facing services. These Services provide roadway users with safe, functional roads and maintain accessibility of these roads through all seasons, provide safe, functional sidewalks, walkways and access ramps, provide public roadway and walkway users with a safe, efficient, organized and synchronized use of the transportation network and maximize the benefit of the system for all users, provide neighbourhoods, roadway users and adjacent property owners with functional public drainage systems; the minor (piped) and the major (overland) systems to convey runoff and provide effective and efficient solid waste collection and disposal of refuse and compost waste to residential households.

Incumbent must have an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science or relevant discipline from a recognized university, with additional program management and professional development training. This academic background should be supplemented with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience ideally a combination of both public works service and the private sector; with a strong leadership, administrative and program planning background.
