Position Title: Engineer – EIT (Full-time)
Location: Civic Center 3rd Floor, Public Works Department
Starting Salary: $50,664 Annually

This is an exceptional opportunity for an Engineer graduate to gain professional civil engineer experience in a well-established community and well-managed municipality. Located in the high desert of central Arizona, at an elevation of 5,100 feet, Prescott Valley experiences a mild four-season climate year round. The quad-city population of Prescott Valley and its neighboring communities is approximately 100,000 providing the experience of a smaller community with all of the culture and amenities of a larger metropolitan area. We are looking for a professional, highly-motivated and articulate individual who is eager to grow in their career with our organization and in our community.
Under general supervision, performs reviews of engineering and planning documents (construction plans, master plans and site specific) for various public works infrastructure including roadway, water, wastewater and drainage utilities. Will assist in the planning and scheduling of future infrastructure needs for the Town. Will perform research and create reports of a technical nature. Researches and analyzes potential engineering solutions for infrastructure issues. Interacts with consultants and contractors who are performing infrastructure work for the Town.
Training will teach the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) how to provide proper engineering support to field inspectors on construction projects, review contractor submittals, track construction progress and process related pay requests; as well as assist in the management of infrastructure as-built information. May assist in other areas as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering area. Registration as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the State of Arizona; or ability to obtain within 6-months of hire. Must possess strong computer skills and hold a valid Arizona driver’s license. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate technical information to others. Must be collaborative in nature; a positive person whose has the ability to solve complex problems creatively and within established guidelines.
