Senior Civil-Environmental Engineer

The Department of Public Utilities – Water & Wastewater now seeks a Senior Civil-Environmental Engineer for its Civil & Environmental Engineering and Construction Management Division. Responsibilities will include:

This individual will represent the water utility’s interests while coordinating with other City departments (e.g., Transportation & Development, Public Works, our Electric utility, etc.) or with other governmental agencies (e.g., DuPage County, Will County, IDOT, IL Tollway, the Forest Preserve, etc.) on their projects. Job duties will involve frequent local travel to city facilities and job sites within Naperville.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field, AND must possess a minimum of three years of progressively responsible engineering experience. Strong skills in oral and written communications, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management will be essential to success in this position. The position additionally requires a State of Illinois P.E. license, a valid State of Illinois driver’s license and a good driving record.
Ideal candidates will also possess experience with design and construction of water and wastewater pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, water mains, and sewer mains. He/ she will have multi-discipline knowledge of general construction, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, site work, and utilities.
