Known for its spectacular views and natural beauty, the City of White Salmon, Washington, is a quaint town that enjoys the pristine beauty of its natural surroundings. The city is situated on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River and is located just 1.5 hours east of Portland, Oregon. White Salmon is known as a friendly community where visitors and residents alike appreciate the area's many outdoor recreation opportunities year round, such as whitewater rafting, windsurfing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and skiing. The city currently has a population of about 2,255 and an immediate surrounding area population of 5,100.

Reporting to the City Administrator/Public Works Director, the Public Works Operations Manager will direct, manage, supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the Public Works Department, including all aspects of water, sewer, street, sidewalk and surface water; construction, maintenance, and repair of city-owned facilities; and emergency management. There are currently seven employees in the Public Works Department.

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, public administration, construction management or a related field. Five years of increasingly responsible public works operations experience, including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work can be substituted for the formal education requirement.
