Superintendent, Maintenance and Planning
Bring your engineering and project management experience to this strategic leadership role in highway construction and maintenance
Location: Whitehorse, YT
The Department of Highways and Public Works builds and maintains transportation infrastructure, systems and programs to ensure safety for travellers and support economic growth within the Yukon. Our highways, bridges, and ferries connect our diverse population from over 14 culturally rich communities to our vibrant economy and the pristine Yukon wilderness. Leading a diverse workforce located across a large geographic region, you will report to the Director, Transportation Maintenance to manage the planning and coordination of Transportation Maintenance Branch special services programming. As part of a team whose work is integral to successful infrastructure rehabilitation and service delivery across Yukon, you will leverage your experience delivering senior management-level decision-making support to establish short and long term strategic plans, develop and administer policy and develop, analyze and control budgets. You will also manage projects, materials and contracts as well as provide IT support and staff supervision.
Candidates who have education, training or experience equivalent to the above qualifications will be equally considered.
Conditions of Employment: A valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence
Approved candidates will be provided reimbursement of interview/relocations expenses, if required, in accordance with the Interview & Relocation Expense Directive.
