The Department of Highways and Public Works builds and maintains transportation infrastructure, systems and programs to ensure safety for travellers and support economic growth within the Yukon. Our highways, bridges, and ferries connect our diverse population from over 14 culturally rich communities to our vibrant economy and the pristine Yukon wilderness. They are as critical to transporting people and resources safely into and out of Yukon, as they are to providing access to world-class fishing, camping and sporting events for recreation seekers.
