This position will serve as Stormwater Project Engineer for Johnson County. Incumbent will be responsible for development, coordination and execution of a floodplain map maintenance program. Must be proficient with floodplain modeling software including HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for analysis and design as well as GIS analyses for stormwater management facilities as necessary. Provide technical assistance to cities and county related to floodplain mapping, floodplain modeling and floodplain management. Review and approve engineering studies, plans, and designs. Investigate citizen requests regarding stormwater matters. Provide technical review and oversight for County NPDES permit compliance, including, but not limited to Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and Post-Construction Runoff Control submittals.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field of study, with a focus on hydrology and hydraulics required. Master’s degree in engineering preferred. Kansas PE license, or the ability to obtain in 6 months required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Five years of related project management experience preferred.
