This position is in the Capital Improvement Programs Division of the Public Works Department and functions under the general supervision of the Assistant City Engineer. This position performs advanced level project management for a variety of complex transportation and public works projects. The position is responsible for administering outside funding sources, preparing technical reports, reviewing development and public works project plans and specifications, and assisting with reports to City Council and department directors on engineering matters.
Education & Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, construction management, public administration or a related field. Civil engineering registration is preferred but not required. Minimum of five years experience in public works, engineering or construction management, including contract administration, plan review and coordination of funding sources and two years of supervisory experience. Traffic Engineering experience including knowledge of development impact fees would be look upon favorably.
