RESPONSIBILITIES: Position performs inspections, tests, studies and evaluation surveys to locate, identify and quantify defects and sources of infiltration and inflow into the sanitary sewer collection system; supervises employees based on assigned area of responsibility; and monitors, plans for and evaluates operational/maintenance activities, controls and technical improvements. Duties include managing budgeted funds; acquiring materials, data management; contracted services; employee training/evaluation; preparation of reports; safety compliance and other tasks as assigned; and require competency in and ongoing use of various computer programs and other technologies.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to completion of the 12th Grade and 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in sewer construction, rehabilitation and maintenance or in a related field which may include areas such as inspection, design or evaluating plumbing systems. The successful candidate will be approachable; collaborative; innovative; demonstrate high personal integrity; responsive to the community and able to create and maintain a strong team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills that lead to proven conflict resolution with customers are critical. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer technologies. Must possess or have the ability to obtain job-required certifications to maintain employment. This position does require a valid Kansas Driver’s License. The successful candidate must pass the background check, post-offer City physical and drug screen.
