Responsible for managing the daily operations of a division (or group of similar divisions) engaged in construction or maintenance operations. Directs all construction and maintenance activities performed by the division(s). Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with City policies and procedures. Prepares divisional budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget. Maintains records of construction, maintenance, scheduling, productivity, service calls, etc. and prepares reports. Addresses citizen complaints and recommends appropriate remedies. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent; and six to eight years related experience and/or training of which two years must be at a managerial or supervisory level; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid state issued driver’s License. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software.
