The City of Clayton is accepting applications for the position of Engineering Intern in the Public Works Department. The City intends to hire two engineering interns for the summer. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Works, duties may include construction and permit inspections for roadway, sidewalk, and streetscape projects; field surveys of City sidewalks and other infrastructure to determine necessary repairs; GPS/GIS surveys of street signs and other assets; tracking and documentation of construction project quantities; development of a facilities maintenance master plan; and other duties as assigned. Salary range: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is required. A valid Driver’s License is required. Preferred qualifications include civil or architectural engineering students who have completed their sophomore year in college; prior material testing and field inspection experience; knowledge of AutoCad, GIS and GPS systems.
