Will manage, plan, and organize the Public Works Department to meet the city goals, establish department priorities, prepare budget, and facilitate employee relations, including administration of union contracts. Requires exercise of considerable professional judgment and initiative.
Requires t horough knowledge of Public Works administration and strong leadership and project management skills to organize, direct, and coordinate projects, personnel, and equipment. Effective communication, negotiating, public speaking, conflict resolution, report writing, interpretation and analysis of technical and statistical information, and proficiency with software programs such as Word, Excel, Access are also required.
Requires a Bachelors in a related field, 8yrs experience in a municipal PW department and 5yrs supervisory experience. A Master in a related field and PE license are desirable. Residency must be met within 1yr of hire. (See City website for details)
