STAFF ENGINEER- DEVELOPMENT The Village of Downers Grove is accepting applications for the position of Staff Engineer - Development. Responsibilities include: Under general supervision, review land development plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances; participate in multi-department development review process; construction inspection; provide technical advice to other staff, boards and commissions on subdivision and development engineering issues and functions. Position requires effective public contact, ability to exercise good judgment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently. Related duties as required. SAMPLE OF MAJOR DUTIES: �� Reviews land development plans, subdivision plans, related stormwater studies, traffic studies, for accuracy, applicability and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes and ordinances. �� Drafts, reviews and coordinates modifications to Subdivision Ordinance and other relevant codes and ordinances. �� Prepares reports, communicates orally and in writing, the results of an analysis prepared individually and by others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering. Experience: Four years of responsible civil engineering experience or any combination which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Registered Professional Engineer with the State of Illinois preferred. Certification as a Floodplain Manager desirable. STARTING SALARY: D.O.Q.
