Volunteer oppportunities are a great way to be involved, network, and give back to your profession. Opportunities are available on both the national level and through your local chapter:
National level opportunities (A call for nominations is issued each year for openings on technical and standing committees)
National Events
There are volunteer opportunities at the North American Snow Conference, the Sustainability in Public Works Conference, and the International Public Works Congress & Exposition. However the host chapter for the event typically handles volunteer coordination. For information about who to contact at the host chapter, visit the chapter's website.
For example the 2012 North American Snow Conference is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, so the Wisconsin chapter will be coordinating volunteers.
Chapter level opportunities
Be sure to complete your "Chapter Interest Survey" to indicate any opportunities you are interested in at the local chapter level.
