ABOUT CONGRESS
For more than 100 years, the APWA International Public Works Congress and Exposition has drawn thousands of public works professionals from all over the world. If you’re like many, you have limited resources for professional development, so you’ve chosen APWA’s Congress as your preferred venue for:
Congress Overview
APWA's Congress will feature more than 120 technical and prefessional development sessions presented by your colleagues and industry vendors. There's no better way to learn than from those who are "in the know." You can earn CEUs and PDHs that will add value to the information you learn onsite. The exhibit—keeping in line with the impressive size of our host site—will be the BIGGEST ever! Immerse yourself in San Antonio—a literal crossroads of Old Mexican, Native American, German, African-American and Deep Southern cultures. In addition to the Alamo, San Antonio offers the renown River Walk, Market Square, Sea World, Six Flags and more. No wonder it's a top-rated spot for a family get-away! Get Acquainted Party—On Sunday, September 9, meet and mingle with your peers at one of San Antonio's most famous neighborhoods - La Villita.
Congress Reception and Banquet— Join your APWA family and friends for an evening of celebration at the Congress Banquet. The evening will begin with a reception followed by dinner and some of the best entertainment San Antonio has to offer. When the house lights are turned down and the stage lights come up on the Rick Cavender band, you will feel that “Texas Connection”! This band delivers a great show, specializing in Contemporary and Classic Country, but also performing great Vintage Rock ‘n Roll and Tejano selections. And watch out, you may just believe you’ve seen Elvis! Rick is well-known as the ultimate King of Rock ‘n Roll, doing one of the best Elvis impersonations you will ever see. The Rick Cavender Band has opened and performed with some of the hottest stars in music—George Strait, Alabama, Tanya Tucker, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, and Glen Campbell to name a few. Come to this year’s banquet ready to be entertained! Return to TopWho Should Attend?
