AHA is the primer historical society in the United States, serving as an umbrella organization for professional historians.

Association for Preservation Technology
APT International is dedicated to advancing the application of technology to the conservation of the built environment.

Construction History Society
The Society is dedicated to the study of the history and evolution of all aspects of the built environment-its creation, maintenance and management. It is a forum for scholars and professionals in the field to share, meet and exchange ideas and research. Membership is open to a wide range of construction related disciplines involved in the planning, development, design and construction of buildings and engineering infrastructure, in addition to those concerned with their operation and preservation. Members share a passion for examining how existing structures were planned, designed and built, with the purpose of using this knowledge to better preserve what we have and to guide us in determining future directions.

National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers
The National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) is the professional association of the
State government officials who carry out the national historic preservation program as delegatees of the Secretary
of the Interior pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act (16 USC 470).
The State Historic Preservation Officers, pursuant to the National Historic Preservation act,
- locate and record historic properties,
- nominate significant historic properties to the National Register,
- foster historic preservation programs at the local government level and the creation of preservation ordinances,
- provide matching funds for preservation projects,
- comment upon preservation projects under consideration for the federal rehabilitation tax credit,
- review all federal projects for impact on historic properties under Section 106 of the Act and the regulations of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and
- provide technical assistance on restoration and other preservation activities to federal agencies, state and local governments, and the private sector.

Western Historical Manuscript Collection (Kansas City)
WHMC, a joint collection of the University of Missouri and the State Historical Society of Missouri, contains primary

Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS)
HABS records America's historic buildings in order to better understand what they tell us of the past, and to
insure their recognition by future generations. HABS produces measured drawings, written histories, and large-format

Tracking Down the roots of our Sanitary Sewers
Over the past ten years, Jon Schladweiler, the Historian of the Arizona Water & Pollution Control Association,
has researched and collected materials related to the history of sewage conveyance systems. The purpose of this website
is to house this dynamic collection of materials about the evolutionary development of sewers over the past 5500 years, and
to provide a location for the sharing and distribution of information to others.
